The following definitions are used when applying the new security measures for checking documentation:

Trip title: Validly issued, current and with expiry date and limitations for its use in each specific case.
Travel documentation for refugees: Issued in accordance with the 1951 Geneva Convention on refugee status
Travel documentation for stateless persons: Issued in accordance with the 1954 Convention on stateless person status.
Other valid travel documents: Apart from the three mentioned above, the Spanish Ministry of the Interior provides for the possibility of travelling with other travel documents, such as a Seafarers’ Identification and Record Book or Seafarer’s Identity Document, although their use is less common.

All passengers over age 14 must carry a national ID card or passport.

On domestic flights, minors under the age of 14 are not obliged to carry one of these forms of identification but it will be easier for them to prove their identity if they do carry an ID card or passport.

There is no standard procedure for international flights (European and third countries) but all minors, accompanied or not and regardless of age, will need to carry their national ID card or passport (plus a consent form authorised at a police station if they are travelling alone) and meet the requirements of the country of destination

Having reported loss to the state security forces will not be valid proof of the passenger’s identity. A state security civil servant may prove the identity, although this accreditation will only be valid to check your identity at the boarding gate on domestic flights and will not be enough to be accepted in the country of destination.

Iberia is registered to the SAE programme and as such, electronic authorization can be processed through the National Migration Institute of Mexico's website by passengers with Russian, Turkish or Ukrainian nationality who wish to travel to Mexico.
