Accessibility Statement

Commitment to accessibility

Iberia Líneas Aéreas de España, S.A. Operadora, Sociedad Unipersonal (hereinafter, “Iberia”) is committed to making its digital services accessible and ensuring that everyone can use them regardless of their abilities, circumstances or access technologies.

Iberia works to ensure that the services offered through iberia.com comply with the applicable accessibility requirements, in particular those established by Law 11/2023 of 8 May and Royal Decree 193/2023 of 21 March, which extends the accessibility criteria established in Royal Decree 1112/2018 of 7 September to websites and mobile applications relating to goods and services available to the public.

UNE-EN 301 549:2022 is used as a technical reference and, additionally, the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, at Level AA, where applicable to the content and functionality assessed. These technical references do not replace the applicable legal requirements.

Scope of the statement

This accessibility statement applies to the iberia.com website and the digital services for individual customers that form part of that website.

The statement covers the digital functionalities and services provided directly through iberia.com, including flight search and purchase, the management of bookings, the private customer area, check-in, seat selection, access to travel information and generated or downloadable documents. When a functionality includes third-party content or services, this will be expressly indicated in the relevant section.

Although Iberia OnBusiness is integrated into the iberia.com domain, it has specific functionalities, areas and processes aimed at businesses and has a separate accessibility statement. Its compliance status is not covered by this statement.

See the Accessibility statement for Iberia OnBusiness.

Iberia's native mobile applications also have separate accessibility statements and are not covered by this statement.

Compliance status

Iberia.com partially complies with applicable accessibility requirements. Barriers have been identified on certain pages, components and processes, as described in the following section. The identified barriers do not necessarily affect all pages or all website functionalities, as the assessments were carried out on representative samples.

Inaccessible content

  • a) Failure to comply with accessibility requirements

  • Structure and semantics of content

    On certain pages, headings may have an inappropriate hierarchy or relationships between content may not be correctly defined for assistive technologies.

    [Requirement 9.1.3.1 — Information and relationships; requirement 9.2.4.6 — Headings and labels, UNE-EN 301 549:2022]

  • Images and non-text content

    Some images, icons or other non-text content may lack a suitable text alternative or have a description that does not sufficiently represent their content or purpose.

    [Requirement 9.1.1.1 — Non-text content, UNE-EN 301 549:2022]

  • Use of color and visual characteristics

    For certain elements, color, shape or position may be used to convey information without always providing an equivalent alternative.

    [Requirement 9.1.3.3 — Sensory characteristics; requirement 9.1.4.1 — Use of color, UNE-EN 301 549:2022]

  • Contrast of text and components

    Some text may have insufficient contrast against the background. There may also be icons, controls or visual indicators whose contrast is not sufficient to make them easier to perceive.

    [Requirement 9.1.4.3 — Minimum contrast; requirement 9.1.4.11 — Non-text contrast, UNE-EN 301 549:2022]

  • Keyboard navigation

    Certain components or processes may be difficult to use fully with a keyboard.

    [Requirement 9.2.1.1 — Keyboard, UNE-EN 301 549:2022]

  • Focus order and visibility

    In some interactions, focus may follow an inappropriate order, not move to the expected element after a change or not be sufficiently visible.

    [Requirement 9.2.4.3 — Focus order; requirement 9.2.4.7 — Focus visible, UNE-EN 301 549:2022]

  • Labelling of controls and components

    Some buttons, links, icons, form fields or other interactive elements may lack a suitable accessible label or have a name that does not sufficiently describe their function. In certain cases, the visual information of the component and the information communicated to assistive technologies may not match.

    [Requirement 9.2.5.3 — Label in name; requirement 9.4.1.2 — Name, role, value, UNE-EN 301 549:2022]

  • Forms and instructions

    Some forms may contain fields without sufficiently accessible labels or instructions, making it difficult to identify the information needed to complete an operation.

    [Requirement 9.3.3.2 — Labels or instructions, UNE-EN 301 549:2022]

  • Error identification and correction

    In certain processes, it may be difficult to identify the field in which an error has occurred, understand its cause or know what action is needed to correct it using assistive technologies.

    [Requirement 9.3.3.1 — Error identification; requirement 9.3.3.3 — Error suggestions, UNE-EN 301 549:2022]

  • Dynamic changes and status messages

    Some changes that occur dynamically, such as changes to results, filters, prices, amounts, loading statuses or booking information, are not always communicated appropriately to assistive technologies.

    [Requirement 9.4.1.3 — Status messages, UNE-EN 301 549:2022]

  • Seat selection and seat map

    In certain seat selection processes, there may be difficulties related to the accessible labelling of seats, reading order, navigation using a keyboard or screen reader, and the use of colors, shapes or positions to convey information. There may also be limitations with certain screen display or orientation settings.

    [Requirement 9.1.1.1 — Non-text content; requirement 9.1.3.2 — Meaningful sequence; requirement 9.1.3.4 — Orientation; requirement 9.1.4.1 — Use of color; requirement 9.2.1.1 — Keyboard; requirement 9.4.1.2 — Name, role, value, UNE-EN 301 549:2022]

  • Generated or downloadable documents

    Some documents associated with travel processes, such as ticket or booking documents, invoices, receipts or boarding passes, may not have a sufficiently accessible structure for interpretation using screen readers.

  • [Applicable requirements of Chapter 10 — Non-web documents, UNE-EN 301 549:2022]

  • Multimedia content

    Some audiovisual content may not have all the necessary accessibility alternatives, such as subtitles, audio description or other equivalent alternatives, where applicable.

    [Requirement 9.1.2.2 — Subtitles (pre-recorded); requirement 9.1.2.5 — Audio description (pre-recorded), UNE-EN 301 549:2022]

  • b) Disproportionate burden

    When preparing this statement, the disproportionate burden exception was not invoked to justify the non-compliances identified in the processes assessed.

  • c) Content outside the scope of the accessibility requirements

    In accordance with the applicable regulations, certain content may fall outside the scope of some accessibility requirements when the legally established conditions apply.

    • pre-recorded multimedia content published before 28 June 2025;

    • certain office documents published before 28 June 2025;

    • third-party content that is not financed, developed or controlled by Iberia;

    • content considered to be archived files that has not been updated or edited after 28 June 2025.

    These possible exclusions do not prevent Iberia from making accessibility improvements to such content.

  • d) Alternatives while barriers are being corrected

    While corrective measures are being implemented, users who encounter difficulties completing an operation in the application can use www.iberia.com and/or alternative channels for assistance and management.

Preparation of this statement

This statement was prepared on 9 September 2026.

Internal assessments and external accessibility audits carried out on representative samples of iberia.com were taken into account in its preparation.

During 2026, ILUNION Accesibilidad assessed different areas and processes, including:

  • the public iberia.com website;

  • ticket purchases;

  • the management of Bookings;

  • the customer's private area;

  • the Upgrade process;

  • Check-in;

  • Early Check-in;

  • and seat selection and seat map.

The assessments used WCAG 2.2 Level AA as a reference and combined automated analysis, manual review and testing with different assistive technologies.

The results of these assessments were analysed jointly to determine the compliance status set out in this statement.

Assessing representative samples makes it possible to identify barriers present in the service, but does not necessarily mean that the same issue is present on all iberia.com pages.

Method used to prepare the statement: assessment based on external accessibility audits and internal review of the results.

Comments and contact details

You can use the email address accesibilidad.digital@iberia.es to send a communication related to the accessibility requirements of iberia.com, report a potential barrier, communicate access difficulties, request information in an accessible format or submit any other accessibility-related query or suggestions.

If, after submitting an accessibility-related communication, the response received is not satisfactory, the person concerned may use the complaints and rights protection mechanisms established under applicable regulations.

Review and update

Iberia maintains an ongoing process for identifying, prioritising and correcting accessibility barriers. Actions focus in particular on correcting barriers that may prevent users from completing essential processes independently, improving keyboard and assistive technology usability, strengthening semantic structure, labelling and contrast, and improving the accessibility of forms, dynamic messages and documents.

Iberia will review this statement periodically and update it when new significant assessments are carried out, relevant changes are made to the service or the corrections implemented alter the declared compliance status.
