Tourist guide: what to do and see in Copenhagen
Look for the Little Mermaid!
Did you know that the Little Mermaid, Copenhagen's most famous statue, is a reproduction of the sculptor's wife's body with the face of a model? This anecdote is one of many you'll discover in Denmark's biggest city, the kind of place where you could literally bump into a member of the royal family doing their daily errands. It's also recognised as one of the cities with the highest quality of life on the planet, due in part perhaps to the abundance of green spaces and proximity to the coast. If you visit, don't just enjoy the great outdoors, though: make sure to delve into Danish culture and especially design: local porcelain, clothing and furniture make the very finest souvenirs.
