What conditions does my booking need to meet for me to be eligible for a voucher?

You must request the voucher at least 15 days before the departure of the flight. Once you've submitted your request, we'll send a voucher for each passenger in the booking to your email address.

How long is the voucher valid for?

Vouchers are valid for one year from the date of request.

What flights can I spend my voucher on?

Vouchers can be used for any direct flight or a connecting flight offered on Iberia.com, regardless of the airline, up to one year from the date you request the voucher.

My booking includes several tickets for several passengers. Does each one of them have to request their own voucher?

You only need to submit one request per 'booking code' stating the details of one of the passengers.

One voucher per passenger in the booking will be issued. Each one will include the ticket amount and any ancillaries purchased (seat selection, bags, etc.).

We'll send all the vouchers to the same contact email stated on the form.

Can I request a voucher if I've already completed part of my journey?

If you have already completed part of your journey, you can request a voucher for the remainder, provided that you submit your request at least 15 days before the departure of the flight for which you want the refund. 

Can I request a voucher if I've previously changed the date under your flexibility policy?

You can request a voucher refund even if you've previously changed the date. But remember, you must request your 80% voucher at least 15 days before the departure of the flight for which you want the refund.

When I receive my voucher, can I use it book through a travel agency or call centre?

Vouchers can only be used to book flights on iberia.com.

How do I use my voucher?

Once you have received your voucher by email:

  • You can use it for any purchase on Iberia.com, except for Iberia Vacaciones packages: Flight + Hotel or Flight + Car.

  • You can redeem it as many times as you want, until you use up the balance.

  • Choose your flights and when you reach the payment screen on our website, enter your voucher code in the box provided.

Can I use the voucher to book a flight with a resident or large family discount?

You can use your voucher and still get the resident or large family discount.

I have several vouchers. Can I combine them to have a single voucher with the entire amount?

You can combine up to 9 vouchers. You can use them in the 'Checking and managing your vouchers ' section. Enter your email and the voucher codes from the same booking that you want to combine.

Can I request the voucher if I've already submitted a request for a refund?

You can't request a voucher if your refund is being processed or you've already received it.

I've requested a voucher but received a reply stating that my ticket doesn't meet the terms and conditions.

If your ticket meets the terms and conditions and you've received an email stating the opposite, it may be because you've requested it more than once. The system automatically sends a non-compliance notice in the case of repeated requests.

You should receive the voucher in the next few days. If you don't, please contact us.

I have already used my voucher. How can I check the remaining balance?

You can check the remaining amount in your voucher in the 'Checking and managing your vouchers' section on this page. You just have to enter your voucher code and the same email that you used when you made the request. We will show you the remaining balance, the expiry date and conditions.

Can I use my voucher to add an extra bag or select a seat?

You can use the voucher to pay for any product or service added to the flight you purchase on the Iberia website.

What do I do if I receive an email informing me about the cancellation of my flight and telling me to request a voucher when I've already requested it?

The process that sends the flight cancellation notice doesn't detect whether a voucher request has already been submitted, so you can ignore this instruction. You'll receive your voucher within the next few days.

Can I use my voucher for a flight+hotel or flight+car holiday package?

Vouchers are not valid for flight+hotel and flight+car packages because these are managed by British Airways Holidays Limited. For any questions, changes or refunds of package bookings, please write to Vacaciones.iberia@ba.com.

What do I do if I've taken out travel insurance and I've requested a voucher for the ticket amount?

If you purchased Allianz travel insurance with your flight, please, contact the insurance company. To do so, you can either reply to the policy confirmation email or send a new email, indicating the policy number, to comercial.es@allianz.com.

What do I do if I've hired a car with Iberia-Avis?

If you have a car hire booking, contact Avis to request a refund (if permitted in the terms and conditions of your agreement).
