Joint Business Agreement

Iberia, Qatar and British Airways

Iberia, Qatar Airways and British Airways Iberia, Qatar Airways and British Airways are joining forces to enhance connectivity for their customers. The three airlines have created the world's largest joint business agreement in the aviation sector. As a result of the agreement, on 11 December Iberia launched daily flights from Madrid to Hamad International Airport in Doha.

Customers will now be able to connect to more than 200 destinations through the three global airlines. Iberia and Qatar Airways will jointly operate three daily flights between Madrid and Doha, greatly improving connectivity between the Iberia Peninsula and key markets in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

Iberia will operate the route with the Airbus A330-200, offering 288 seats in Business and Economy cabins. Iberia's participation in the alliance expands the options for customers, who will benefit from an extensive network of destinations, flight schedules and fare; highly efficient connectivity through Doha, London and Madrid; and the comfort of prestigious Business cabins like the Qatar Airways Qsuite, the British Airways Club Suite and the Iberia Business Class.

More benefits of the agreement

Travellers from Spain and Portugal will now be able to connect to a wide range of attractive new destinations. From now on, relaxing in the Maldives and Seychelles, adventuring in Tanzania and Nepal, enjoying a cultural holiday in India and Oman, going shopping in Singapore and Thailand, or visiting family and friends in Australia and Hong Kong will all be more affordable and feasible with more flight options.

Customers from the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Australia will also have more opportunities to fly to Madrid, Lisbon, Ibiza, Málaga, Gran Canaria and many more destinations in Spain and Portugal.

As another significant benefit of the expansion of this joint business agreement, members of the British Airways Executive Club, Iberia Plus and Qatar Airways Privilege Club loyalty programmes will all be able to collect and spend Avios, the common currency for the three airlines. This means that loyalty members can transfer Avios between accounts and combine their balances to benefit from the advantages offered by each programme.
