One of the places not to be missed is to the City of Arts and Sciences. Here you can also find the Oceanographic – the largest aquarium in Europe, and see the most diverse marine ecosystems on the planet. Next, drop by the Príncipe Felipe Science Museum, an interactive space where learning science is fun and suitable for all ages.
Explore the old town and walk through the Serranos Towers. This gateway will take you back to medieval times. Stand on the bridge opposite these towers you'll be able to take some amazing photos.
Go for a stroll through the streets of Barrio del Carmen and discover secluded squares, like Plaza del Tossal. This neighbourhood is full of murals and street art.
Discover Valencia's delicious cuisine by visiting the Central Market, one of the largest food markets in Europe. You can try a wide range of local products, and don't forget to try a very cold "horchata" (sweet tiger nut drink) and "fartons" (sweet pastries).
If you want to enjoy nature without leaving the city, be sure to visit the Turia Gardens. All along these gardens you'll find historic bridges, fountains, and play areas. Another way of enjoying nature is by going on a boat ride in the Albufera at sunset.
Finally, if you are lucky enough to be in Valencia during the local festivities, you shouldn't miss the breath-taking "mascletà", a spectacular pyrotechnic event. This show is one of the city's most exciting traditions.
