At Iberia Plus we've learned the value you attach to every trip. So to adapt to your preferences we've changed the method for earning Avios. This new method is clearer and simpler, the way you like things.
Because if every trip counts for you, it does for us as well.
Your new way to earn Avios with Iberia Plus
From 29 November 2022, every ticket you buy will earn Avios according to the new method. Instead of rewarding your trips for the miles flown - the method used until now - you'll collect Avios for every euro you spend.* The previous system for earning Avios will apply to tickets bought before that date.
According to your Iberia Plus level:
*Applies to net spending, including ancillary purchases and carrier imposed charges but excluding taxes and fees.
Get extra Avios on certain destinations
on top of the ones you collect for your card level.
Example: Clásica = 5 Avios/€, on this route = 6 Avios/€
Example: Clásica = 5 Avios/€, on this route = 7 Avios/€
Let's look at a few examples to see how it works
Imagine you have an Iberia Plus Oro card and you book a flight to Paris for €96**
After tax and fees you're left with €78. That would be your net spend.
You now multiply that amount by 7, which are the Avios earned per euro spent with the Iberia Plus Oro level.
So you get 546 Avios!
But if you also buy a Flexibility Pack for €39, you'll collect another 273 Avios.
And of course you still get your Elite Points as usual. That hasn't changed.
Now let's suppose you fly to New York in the summer for €950**.
You follow the same process:
After tax and fees you're left with a net spend of €860.
You multiply this amount by 7 because you still have your Iberia Plus Oro card.
You collect 6,020 Avios!
And if you take an additional bag for €80, you'll get another 560 Avios.
You also collect your Elite Points as usual.
