Social responsibility

Committed
to people

Working towards a sustainable future also means working for people and improving the well-being of the communities in which we operate.

WE PROTECT
DISADVANTAGED CHILDREN
AND CHILDREN'S HEALTH

SINCE 2013 WE HAVE
helped vaccinate
over a million children
from Angola, Chad and Cuba

together with Unicef and our customers.

TOGETHER WITH NGO MANO A MANO
we take children
who need
medical treatment

far from home.

SINCE 2001 WE HAVE HELPED
more than 300 children
with serious diseases
to make their dreams come true

together with NGO Make-A-Wish-Spain.

WE ALSO SUPPORT
education projects
in Africa and Latin America,
and children's health and integration projects

carried out by the Sepla Ayuda Foundation and Aviation without Borders.

WE COLLABORATE TO ACHIEVE
SOCIAL AND PROFESSIONAL INTEGRATION
OF PEOPLE AT RISK OF EXCLUSION

For more than 40 years we have been working with Envera, an organisation created by Iberia employees with children with special needs. Its mission is the protection and social and professional inclusion of people with physical, intellectual and sensory disabilities.

Envera centres carry out different kinds of jobs for Iberia, such as document management, washing aircraft linen and managing the inventory of aircraft part storage areas, amongst other things.

WE SUPPORT
DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS
AT OUR DESTINATIONS

Aula Iberia: Schooling project in Guatemala

In March 2017, Iberia and NGO Mano a Mano officially opened the "Aula Iberia" at the Maya Kaqchikel Beleje Noj Educational Centre in Guatemala. This schooling project, focusing on promoting employability in the Los Tunayes community in San Martín Jilotepeque, is the only secondary school in this rural region.

Since the project was launched, 40 young people have received training every year at this educational centre, promoted by the rural community development association ADECOR and with the financial support of NGO Mano a Mano created within Iberia.

Development project in Morocco

We support the development project in Douar Afernou el Fouki, a rural area of Morocco in the province of Larache, which is being carried out by NGO Mano a Mano in collaboration with AMED (Mediterranean Association for the Development and Protection of the Environment).

We donated the funds raised at the charity auction of Iberia's "Meninas", which were part of the Meninas Madrid Gallery exhibitions in 2018 and 2019. This helped to fund the renovation of two fountains and to build a reservoir and water channelling to the houses of the people living in the region, as well as the construction of community ovens that allow ecological baking, which are now used by the 255 people that make up this community.

WE OFFER OUR
HELP IN
EMERGENCY SITUATIONS

When there has been a health emergency or disaster, we have collaborated by doing what we know best: connecting people and transporting material wherever it is needed.

WE HAVE FLOWN
over 70 repatriation
flights

during the pandemic.

WE HAVE CARRIED
almost 6 million
COVID vaccinations

to places such as the Canary Islands, Balearic Islands and Melilla, in Spain, and to El Salvador, Mexico, Chile, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Uruguay and Peru, in Latin America.

DURING THE ERUPTION OF THE CUMBRE VIEJA VOLCANO, WE SENT
5 tonnes of humanitarian
aid to La Palma

in collaboration with NGO Mano a Mano.

WE CARRY
ORGANS FOR
TRANSPLANTS

We collaborate with the Spanish National Transplant Organisation (ONT).

Transporte de órganos para trasplantes

SINCE 2013 WE HAVE TRANSPORTED
762 organs,
which are essential to keep
the chain of life

going as part of the Spanish National Donation and Transplant Programme.
