Tourist guide: what to do and see in Naples
The birthplace of real Italian treasures
In addition to its famous landscapes, people, and dreamlike places, perhaps what stands out most in Naples is the amount of treasure which is stored behind its walls. It's not only the most populated city in the south of Italy, and capital of the province that takes its name, as well as Campania, the Greeks, Romans, Normans, and Spanish have left their mark available for the most curious of travellers. The land of famous celebrities such as Guiseppe Verdi or Sofía Loren is also home to the pizza margarita, which is a delicacy made during the 18th century by Raffaele Esposito as a tribute to Queen Margherita and then became an essential worldwide food product.
