Located on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, the cultural capital of Israel is a cosmopolitan, youthful and dynamic city, where past and present live together in perfect harmony. Take one of our cheap flights to Tel Aviv and discover a city with a wealth of history, beaches, cafes and sophisticated shops, making it a popular tourist destination. Its origins lie in the old port town of Jaffa, next to which it was founded in the early 20th Century.

Today, this thousand-year-old village makes up part of the Old Town, with its narrow alleyways and low stone houses, built during the Ottoman Empire. Filled with charm, this picturesque, bohemian neighbourhood is home to artists and one of Tel Aviv’s main tourist attractions, where you will discover the numerous marvels this city has to offer. The Gan Hapisga (Summit Garden), is a lively area, and home to artisanal Judaic shops, galleries and restaurants, a promenade, the old city walls and the fishing port. Other attractions in the Old Town include Saint Peter’s Monastery, the House of Simon the Tanner(where Peter saw his vision of non-Kosher animals), the Mahmoudiya Mosque, Tabitha’s Tomb and the Bridge of Desires.

To bring yourself back to the present day, head to the White City, a residential district, which boasts the largest amount of Bauhaus buildings in the world and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2003. True to its cultural Heritage, Tel Aviv also offers a plethora of museums. Some of the most visited museums are those which are linked to Israel’s tumultuous history, such as the Diaspora Museum (Beit Hatfutsot) and the Land of Israel Museum (Haaretz), as well as the Tel Aviv Art Museum, which houses works by Chagall, Modigliani, Cézanne, Monet and Van Gogh.
