Bad weather conditions over Madrid

As a result of the adverse weather conditions in Madrid-Barajas Airport some of our flights have been affected. Faced with this situation beyond Iberia's control, if you are flying between January 8 and 17 to / from Madrid on flights operated by Iberia, Iberia Express and Iberia Regional Air Nostrum, British Airways, American Airlines or Finnair and you have purchased your ticket directly from our websites or in Serviberia before January 9, 2021, you have the possibility of booking any flight on the same route until March 20, 2021.

Upon arrival in Spain: due to this situation that has meant the delay / cancellation / rescheduling of flights, passengers whose PCR has expired due to this circumstance will not be required to carry out a new PCR. Click here for more information.

We will temporarily offer an alternative catering service on our flights and special meals will not be available. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Madrid’s Adolfo Suarez-Barajas airport is recovering its operation with many limitations due the ice and snow deposits on ramps and airplane parking areas. Iberia will operate within the next two days, more than 80 percent of long-haul flights and more than 60 percent of short and medium-haul flights.
If you want to the change the dates, you can do it online directly, before the flight departure time, through Booking management. Otherwise, please wait to be contacted by Iberia team or, in the last instance, you can also manage your reservation contacting us through Serviberia who will try to attend you as quickly as possible.

Flight arrival and departure information

We recommend that you check the status of your flight at Arrivals and Departures before you go to the airport. If your flight has been canceled, we ask you do not go to the airport.

Flight updates due to the evolution of Coronavirus

Due to COVID-19 and the restrictions applied by certain countries, we're extending our flexible fare policy to flights operated by Iberia, Iberia Express and Iberia Regional Air Nostrum. You can find the details below. We're offering you the option of requesting a voucher for the ticket amount through Booking Management.






If you booked through an agency, please contact them directly.

In view of the rapidly changing situation, which may cause disruption to flights, times and other arrangements, we advise all customers to check Booking Management to find out whether their flight has been affected.


Flights to/from any destination in the Iberia Group network

Customers affected by any of the following circumstances less than 15 days before departure can change the date of their flight free of charge or get a refund in the form of a voucher to swap for tickets and services in the Booking Management section of our website:

  • New entry restrictions have been established at your destination

  • You are affected by the sudden introduction of compulsory lockdown or quarantine measures at your destination that cannot be avoided by testing negative for COVID-19 just before travelling

  • You are suddenly subject to lockdown or quarantine measures in your place of origin (lockdown imposed for your region, province, town or hospital zone; a household member tests positive for COVID-19, etc.)

  • You yourselves test positive for COVID-19

All you need to do is request it on our website [in Manage Your Booking] before check-in closes for the flight you are not going to be able to take. Alternatively, you can contact Customer Services to explain the reason why you can't travel.

Vouchers provide maximum flexibility because there are no date restrictions and they can be used for one or more flights until the balance has been used up. You can request your voucher from Booking Management.

Benefits of requesting a voucher:

  • No waiting. Easy online request process.

  • The voucher can be used once or as many times as you want until you've spent the full amount.

  • You have 14 months from the date of issue to use it.

  • The voucher is non-nominative so you can use it to buy a ticket for someone else.

  • Valid for any direct flight or any connecting flight where at least one of the routes is operated by Iberia, Iberia Express or Iberia Regional Air Nostrum.

  • To fly whenever you want.

Changes are also permitted with the following exceptions: not valid for flights from 4 to 9 December2020, from 19 December 2020 to 10 January 2021; and from 24 March to 10 April 2021. To make these changes, please contact your travel agency or submit your request through Booking Management.

The above change and voucher refund options do not affect any other refund alternatives that apply to situations where you are unable to travel due to force majeure. In these cases, all requests must be submitted through our usual customer service channels.
