Argentina with a Historic Record: Up to23 Weekly Frequencies

This increase, scheduled between June and August next year

To mark the 80th anniversary of Iberia’s first flights connecting Argentina and Europe, whichwill take place next year, the airline is further strengthening its commitment to the country. Asa result, it will reach a historic record: up to 23 weekly frequencies on the Buenos Aires–Madrid route.

This increase will take place during the European summer season—June, July, and August—andwill allow Iberia to operate up to four flights on Tuesdays and Sundays. Buenos Aires will thusbecome the first destination in Iberia’s long-haul network to exceed three daily flights, amilestone never before achieved.

In addition to the increased frequencies, Iberia will operate this route exclusively with theAirbus A350—the most advanced and efficient aircraft in its fleet—allowing the airline tobetter meet the growing demand on this corridor.

Flight Plan 2030

This increase in capacity between Argentina and Europe is part of the broader actions beingimplemented under Iberia’s Flight Plan 2030—its corporate roadmap for the coming years, with a strong focus on Latin America.

Announced a couple of months ago, this plan includes an investment of over €6 billion, theexpansion of Iberia’s long-haul fleet to around 70 aircraft, the launch of new destinations suchas Recife, Fortaleza, Monterrey, Orlando,Toronto, and Philadelphia ,and growth on existingroutes such as Buenos Aires, among many other initiatives.

This enhanced connectivity between Latin American markets and Madrid supports one of thekey objectives of Flight Plan 2030: to position Madrid’s hub as a leading gateway on par withthe major hubs of Northern Europe, while further strengthening Iberia’s network and offeringmore options to customers around the world.
