Flight flexibility due to recent events in Marrakech

Due to, due to earthquake in Marrakech, we are issuing the following travel guide for customers who want to change their travel plans on Iberia flights that continue to operate.

Faced with this situation beyond Iberia's control, if you are flying between 9th and 30th September 2023, to or from Marrakech on flights operated by Iberia, Iberia Express with a ticket purchased directly through our websites or Serviberia until 9th September 2023, have the possibility of booking on any flight on the same route or up to 300 km away, until 30th October 2023. If you bought your ticket to fly with us through a travel agency, you must consult the agency to modify your booking.

Check whether your flight allows date changes or the processing of a voucher directly through Booking management. If not and your flight is scheduled to depart in the next 48 hours, please call our Customer Service

Requirements for the carriage of pets from Ceuta and Melilla

In view of the rabies situation in this area, a series of measures have been introduced to control the disease and avoid it spreading to other parts of the country. As a result, all pets from Ceuta and Melilla must comply with the legal health measures:

  • Microchip identification

  • Valid rabies vaccination certificate issued in the past 12 months

  • European pet passport

Furthermore, these animals may only enter the country through an approved airport or port of entry. Granada-Jaén airport is not approved for these purposes and pets are therefore not permitted for this destination.

Traveling to the U.S. with dogs / cats

Starting July 14, 2021, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has issued a temporary suspension of dogs (carry-on or checked), including fully-trained service dogs, traveling to the U.S. from a country considered high-risk for dog rabies.

Only service dogs traveling to the U.S. from high-risk countries with an approved CDC Dog Import Permit may fly. Cats from high-risk countries will not be accepted as carry-on or checked pets during the suspension.
