Reintroduction of border controls in Italy from 5 to 18 June 2024

Schengen internal border control will be reintroduced in Italy from 5 to 18 June 2024 for the G7 summit in Puglia (Italy). We ask all passengers on flights to or from Italy to ensure that they have the correct travel documents.
To speed up access through the security controls on arrival, it is recommended to travel with your passport and thus be able to access through the automatic doors in a faster and more orderly way.
For the same reason, check-in for flights to/from Italy during this period will only be available 24 hours before departure.

Requirements for the carriage of pets from Ceuta and Melilla

In view of the rabies situation in this area, a series of measures have been introduced to control the disease and avoid it spreading to other parts of the country. As a result, all pets from Ceuta and Melilla must comply with the legal health measures:

  • Microchip identification

  • Valid rabies vaccination certificate issued in the past 12 months

  • European pet passport

Furthermore, these animals may only enter the country through an approved airport or port of entry. Granada-Jaén airport is not approved for these purposes and pets are therefore not permitted for this destination.
