Flight updates due to the evolution of Coronavirus

Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, following guidelines have been published for customers who have a ticket purchased on flights operated by Iberia, Iberia Express and Iberia Regional Air Nostrum, according to the information detailed below. You have the posibility to request a voucher* for the amount of the ticket. You can request your voucher by completing this form.

 

 

 

 

If you bought your ticket to fly with us through a travel agency, you must consult the agency to modify your booking.

As the situation remains dynamic, our flight schedules may change at short notice to comply with regulatory directives or operational requirements, we suggest that customers access at Manage my booking to be able to report directly any change that affects your trip.

 

Flights to/from any Iberia group destination

If you have an Iberia ticket for a flight between 1 March and 30 June, we offer you the opportunity to exchange it for a voucher worth the same amount to be used for a flight on a later date.

 

The voucher will remain valid until 30 June 2021, and there are no restrictions regarding travel dates or destinations. You can even spend them on more than one flight. To request a voucher, please fill out and send us this online form.

Advantages of the bonus :

  • No waiting. As easy as you request it online.

  • The bonus can be used one or more than once, until its amount is exhausted.

  • It can be used whenever you want until June 30, 2021.

  • The voucher is non-nominative. Choose who you are going to buy the ticket for.

  • Valid for any direct flight or a connecting flight where at least one of the segments is operated by Iberia, Iberia Express or Iberia Regional Air Nostrum.

  • To flight whenever you want until June 30, 2021.

 

Changes of your ticket are also allowed for travel before 30 April 2021 with the following exceptions:  9-12 October; 4-9 December; 19 December-10 January; and 24 March-4 April 2021. To change your tickets, contact your travel agent or or make your request through Manage my booking.

 

Travel restrictions to Spain

  • From 00:00 hours on 15 May until the end of the state of emergency (currently, until 00:00 hours on 24 May 2020), only the following people will be allowed to enter Spain:

    • Spanish citizens

    • Legal residents of Spain

    • Cross-border workers

    • Healthcare workers or care home workers travelling to their place of work

    • Those who can prove they need to enter the country for reasons of force majeure or absolute necessity

    • Foreign personnel accredited as members of diplomatic missions, consular offices and international organisations located in Spain, provided that their travel is related to official duties

    • Those arriving in Spain solely for a work-related purpose other than those mentioned above

    In all cases, documentary proof of the status claimed will be required.

  • With the exception of cross-border workers and healthcare workers travelling to their place of work (provided that they have not had contact with anyone diagnosed with COVID-19), those who meet these requirements must also self-isolate for 14 days on arrival in Spain. They will be required to stay at their home or hotel and movement will be limited to essential trips for the following:

    • To buy food, medicine and other basic items

    • To go to a health centre, service or hospital

    • Reasons of force majeure or absolute necessity

    Face masks must be worn for all of these activities.

    Anyone who develops COVID-19 symptoms (fever, cough, shortness of breath, general aches and pains or any of the other known symptoms) must telephone the special hotline for the autonomous community in question and inform the operator that they are in quarantine following recent arrival in the country.

  • The use of a face mask covering nose and mouth is compulsory when travelling to/from Spain (during boarding, disembarkation and inside the aircraft)  and throughout Spanish airports.

  • To travel to Spain, you must fill in a Public Health Passenger Form to be located during quarantine. This form is required by the authorities.

 

Flights to the Balearic or Canary Islands

All passengers with the destination Canary Islands or Balearic Islands must fill out a form justifying the reason for their trip. This form is mandatory in accordance with the order of the relevant authorities.

Cambio de ubicación del Puente Aéreo

Due to the impact on air transport of the spread of the coronavirus, the airport authority has decided to temporarily close the Air Shuttle security control at Madrid and Barcelona airports. However, we have set up another area to continue providing this service:

In Madrid:
Desk 812 n the general check-in area in T4.
We advise you to go to the airport well in advance of your flight if you are going to check in baggage. Check-in will close 45 minutes before the scheduled departure time.

In Barcelona:
Desk 414 in T1, Main Level (3). Check-in times remain the same as usual.

We recommend that you confirm your booking and check the status of your flight before you go to the airport.
