What travel documents do I need to show at Spanish airports?

According to the regulation introduced by the National Airport Security Committee of the Spanish Civil Aviation Authority, we must ask all our passengers, regardless of their destination, to show their National ID Card, passport or driving licence issued in Spain to verify that their identity matches the information on their ticket and boarding pass.
Check the documents that you must provide at the check-in desks and boarding gates in order to confirm them.

Do I need to fill in an "ESTA" form to enter the United States?

If you are going to travel to or in transit through the United States, be advised that citizens of the countries included in the Visa Waiver Programme "ESTA" must apply for an electronic travel authorisation. It is best to complete the registration procedure a minimum of 72 hours before the flight departs in order to get official authorisation in time. We recommend that you carry a printed copy of the authorisation together with all the other necessary documents for your trip.

If you have been to Cuba since 12 January 2021 and therefore have a Cuban stamp in your passport, you will not be able eligible to use the ESTA scheme and will have to apply for a B1 or B2 visa at the Consulate General or Consular Section of the Embassy of the United States in your place of residence.

The number on Spanish passports consists of 9 characters: 3 letters followed by 6 digits. Due to the typography used, the number 0 (zero) is sometimes confused with the letter O, and vice versa. Make sure that you enter all the characters correctly when you fill in the ESTA application.

If you are going to travel to Israel, please be informed that, from 1 January 2025, citizens of third countries that do not need a visa, such as the US, Australia, the EU and the UK, must fill out an ETA, electronic travel authorisation. It is mandatory that you carry out the registration procedure at least 72 hours before the flight departure, in order to obtain official authorisation on time. We recommend that you carry a printed copy of the authorisation with all your other necessary travel documents.

You need a valid passport in order to fill out the form. The ETA is valid for two years from its issuance and allows you to spend up to three months in Israel.
