GETTING ELITE POINTS AND AVIOS

For each flight you take with American Airlines you can collect:

  • Avios, a credit that builds up in your Iberia Plus balance, exchangeable for flights and other opportunities offered by the Program.

  • Elite Points, a credit awarded exclusively for flights and which determines whether elite card levels should be kept and/or accessed.

* These are the minimum Avios awarded (as determined by the booking class) for flights less than 500 airmiles. Available on American Airlines flights only for Platinum, Gold and Silver clients.

PLATINUM, GOLD AND SILVER BONUS

The Elite Bonus is an additional number of Avios collected by clients who hold Platinum, Gold or Silver Elite cards.

With the Platinum, Gold or Silver Elite Bonus, you will get extra Avios on all AA-code flights, depending on your card level.

Platinum card: 100%

Gold card: 50%

Silver card: 25%

This bonus will be applied by multiplying this percentage by the real distance in miles flown in Full Economy and Business classes.

For Economy Discounted classes, it will be applied by multiplying this percentage by the number of basic Avios (without promotions) obtained for the flight.

  • Iberia reserves the right to exclude tariffs from the receipt of Elite Points and Avios. Check the general programme conditions

  • Codeshare flights booked with the code of a carrier associated to Iberia but operated by a company not associated to Iberia do not meet the requirements for the award of Avios and Elite Points.

  • Iberia reserves the right to modify this Avios use table.

  • Booking and issue of tickets charged to your Avios for flights operated by American Airlines and code AA are exempt from booking fees if made through the private area of Iberia.com. There will be an additional charge per ticket when the booking is made through its Service Center (except for Platinum clients, who are exempt).

  • The class Full Economy is only available in combination with flights with Iberia Group.
