GETTING ELITE POINTS AND AVIOS

For each flight you take with British Airways you can obtain:

  • Avios, a credit that builds up in your Iberia Plus balance, exchangeable for flights and other opportunities offered by the Program.

  • Elite Points, a credit obtained exclusively for flights and which determines whether elite card levels should be kept and/or accessed.

*These are the minimum Avios obtained (as determined by the booking class) for flights less than 500 airmiles.

Getting Avios for direct flights with BA code is determined by the following criteria:

  • Real distance flown in miles and flight class (cabin bonus)

  • Minimum Avios (per flight class)

  • Card level (Platinum, Gold and Silver bonus)
     

PLATINUM, GOLD AND SILVER BONUS

The Elite Bonus is an additional number of Avios obtained by clients who hold Platinum, Gold or Silver Elite cards. With the Platinum, Gold or Silver Elite Bonus, you will get extra Avios on all BA-code flights, depending on your card level.

Platinum card: 100%

Gold card: 50%

Silver card: 25%

This bonus will be applied by multiplying this percentage by the real distance in miles flown in Full Economy, Premium Economy, Business and First classes.

For Economy Discounted classes it will be applied by multiplying this percentage by the number of basic Avios obtained for the flight (excluding promotions and based on the Avios minimum where applicable)

  • Iberia reserves the right to exclude tariffs from the receipt of Elite Points and Avios. Check the general programme conditions

  • Codeshare flights booked with the code of a carrier associated to Iberia but operated by a company not associated to Iberia do not meet the requirements for the award of Avios and Elite Points.

  • Iberia reserves the right to modify the Avios use table.

  • Booking and issue of tickets charged to your Avios for flights operated by British Airways are exempt from booking fees if made through Iberia.com. There will be an additional charge per ticket when the booking is made through its Service Center (except for Platinum clients, who are exempt).
