Iberia joins the TSA PreCheck® programme
Passengers departing on Iberia flights out of the U.S. are eligible to expedite the airport security screening process
Iberia joins the U.S. Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) PreCheck programme, which expedites passage through the airport, minimising waiting time and facilitating the journey through security controls in the United States.
TSA PreCheck passengers should look for the TSA PreCheck indicator on their boarding pass before they arrive at the airport to make their passage faster and more agile, as passengers do not have to remove their shoes, belts or jackets, or remove liquids and electronic devices from hand luggage when passing through the security checkpoint.
According to TSA data, 99% of passengers enrolled in the TSA PreCheck programme wait, on average, less than ten minutes in security lines.
How to obtain TSA PreCheck Screening
Enroll in TSA PreCheck
Eligible U.S. citizens, nationals and lawful permanent residents can start at tsa.gov/precheck to select an enrollment provider with enrollment locations nearby, submit their TSA PreCheck application online in as little as 5 minutes, and then visit an enrollment location to complete the application process. Once approved, travelers will receive their Known Traveler Number (KTN) to add to their airline reservations and traveler profiles.
Other DHS Trusted Traveler Programs
Additional trusted traveller programs including Global Entry, NEXUS and SENTRI are available for entry into the U.S. from international destinations. Visit ttp.dhs.gov to learn about eligibility requirements and application information.
Nine destinations in the United States
In the upcoming summer season, which starts on 31 March and runs until 30 October, again, Iberia is making a strong commitment to the United States and will offer 140 weekly flights to nine destinations in this market.
Specifically, the Spanish airline will operate two daily flights to New York and another two to Miami, and a daily flight to Chicago, Boston and Dallas Fort Worth. Iberia will also increase its frequencies to Los Angeles during the months of June, July, August and September, with seven flights a week, compared to the current five, all operated by Airbus A350s, the largest, most modern and efficient aircraft in its fleet.
Iberia will also recover its seasonal routes to Washington with four weekly frequencies and three to San Francisco. In addition, Puerto Rico will see its flights increase, going from five weekly frequencies to seven.
