Iberia's commitment to accessibility

Iberia Líneas Aéreas de España, S.A. Operadora, Sociedad Unipersonal (hereinafter, "Iberia") undertakes to ensure the accessibility of its website iberia.com, in accordance with Royal Decree 1112/2018, of 7 September and with the UNE-EN 301 549:2021 standard. To demonstrate this commitment, Iberia applies the criteria of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
Within this framework, an exhaustive technical audit has been conducted with the use of internal tools such as Screaming Frog and with the collaboration of its own resources. More detailed technical audits in specific areas have been carried out with ILUNION Accesibilidad.
Iberia works ceaselessly to identify and remove barriers, ensuring universal access to its digital content.

This website is partially compliant with RD 1112/2018 due to exceptions and the lack of conformity in certain sections, as indicated below.

Below, we list the non-accessible content on the site, explaining the reason:

Non-conformity	Keyboard navigation and focus	A "Skip to main content" link is not provided on the page and in some components (e.g. header menu) the visual focus indicator is not visible when navigating with a keyboard. In addition, in certain interactions, the screen reader's focus shifts unexpectedly when content changes, which can disorient visually impaired users.
Non-conformity	Flight Search form (keyboard trap)	The Cheap Flights search engine has keyboard traps: when the keyboard is the sole navigation method, the focus gets stuck inside the form with no easy way out. This prevents keyboard-only users from completing tasks autonomously.
Non-conformity	Images without the correct alt text	Some images lack equivalent alt text or don't accurately reflect their content, so users who can't see them don't understand the information conveyed.
Non-conformity	Insufficient colour contrast	In certain texts and graphics, the contrast ratio between the text and the background is less than the minimum required (4.5:1), making it difficult for people with low vision or colour blindness to read them. For example, the contrast is too low in hover state for some links in the headers and footers.
Disproportionate burden	Older videos with no audio description	Some of the videos published in the past lack audio description. Imbedding audio descriptions in all of this older audiovisual content would demand a disproportionate effort, so it may not be fully accessible to visually impaired users.

Preparation of this statement

Date: This statement was prepared on 1 September 2025.
Preparation method:
- Detailed internal self-assessment using tools such as Screaming Frog's SEO Spider, which integrates the open-source AXE accessibility engine for automated accessibility validation based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) established by the W3C. The assessment was conducted against the Double-A level of the WCAG 2.2. This self-assessment made it possible to identify accessibility issues in the general directories.
- Additional assessment was carried out by a third party, ILUNION Accesibilidad, which conducted a more detailed analysis of specific directories to verify compliance with the established criteria.
Date of the assessment: Last exhaustive technical audit carried out by ILUNION Accesibilidad in specific directories prior to the publication of the accessibility statement: Iberia – Círculo SAF dated 14 August.

This statement refers exclusively to the Iberia website at https://www.iberia.com/. It does not apply to other platforms such as kiosks and mobile applications.

With regard to the third-party content integrated into the website, Iberia understands that it must guarantee the accessibility of such content. Although these components are considered third-party elements, Iberia undertakes to make every effort to ensure that such content is equally accessible, in accordance with the established accessibility guidelines. Corrections are currently being implemented as part of the digital migration of the website. The remediation programme linked to the migration process is underway and will allow the necessary adjustments to be made to ensure that all elements, including those of third parties, conform to accessibility standards.

Applicable procedure

If you send us a message or a request for accessible information through the above channels and it is rejected or you don't hear from us within a reasonable space of time, you can file a formal complaint. In accordance with Article 13 of RD 1112/2018, you must address these complaints to the Sub-Directorate General of User Services of the Secretary of State for Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence, through the electronic office of the competent ministry (currently, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation). This procedure ensures the protection of users' accessibility rights.

Review and update

Iberia reviews the accessibility of its portal at least once a year and whenever significant changes are introduced in the structure or content. This statement will therefore also be reviewed.
A full website accessibility audit is planned by August 2026 at the latest to assess progress and ensure continued compliance with current standards. In future updates, Iberia will continue to adapt this statement to reflect the most recent accessibility status of its website.
