Bucharest (Romania) and Tivat (Montenegro), New Iberia Destinations for Summer 2026
The airline is adding two new routes to Romania and Montenegro to its summer network, with two weekly frequencies each
Iberia continues to strengthen its network of European destinations with the addition of two new routes for the 2026 summer season: Bucharest, in Romania, and Tivat, in Montenegro.
With these two new destinations, the airline is expanding its seasonal routes, offering customers new travel options, in addition to its already established summer routes and increased frequencies to other key European destinations.
These new summer destinations are part of the 2030 Flight Plan, the roadmap Iberia is using to drive its growth and consolidate Madrid as a major hub connecting Europe and America.
Madrid – Bucharest
The Romanian capital, one of the most attractive emerging destinations in Eastern Europe, will have two weekly flights (Wednesdays and Sundays) from 3 June to 30 September, 2026.
This route is a response to the growing tourist interest in Romania. Furthermore, this connection will facilitate connections from Bucharest to North America and Latin America, via Iberia's hub in Madrid.
Bucharest is a city known for its eclectic architecture, where neoclassical palaces, French-inspired buildings, and modern structures coexist. This is rounded off by a vibrant cultural life, along with a rapidly expanding culinary and leisure scene. Its proximity to natural destinations such as Transylvania and the Carpathians makes it an excellent starting point for exploring the country.
Madrid – Tivat
Iberia will also fly for the first time to Tivat, Montenegro, an increasingly popular coastal destination on the Adriatic. This route will also have two weekly flights (Tuesdays and Saturdays) and will operate from 18 July to 15 September, 2026.
The connection to Tivat offers customers a summer alternative to traditional Mediterranean destinations, thus diversifying Iberia's network.
In recent years, Tivat has become a booming tourist destination, combining natural landscapes with modern infrastructure. It is also very close to Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
