Iberia Prepares for Winter with New Routes and Increased Frequencies
Orlando (USA), Recife and Fortaleza (Brazil) are the airline’s new destinations
Iberia is launching its winter season with new routes, increased frequencies to destinations in Latin America, North America and Europe, and the return of seasonal winter routes. This attractive range of destinations will allow customers to plan their getaways over the coming months.
Three New Routes in the Americas
One of the main highlights of the winter season is the launch of three new long-haul international routes: Orlando in the United States Recife and Fortaleza in Brazil. Starting 26 October, Iberia will operate direct flights between Madrid and Orlando with four weekly frequencies, using 292-seat A330 aircraft. With this new route, Iberia now offers nine direct destinations in the U.S., reinforcing its leadership between Spain and North America.
In Brazil, Iberia is expanding its presence with two new destinations. Direct flights to Recife will begin on 13 December with three weekly frequencies, and Fortaleza will be added on 19 January, also with three weekly flights. Both routes will be operated with the innovative Airbus A321XLR, for which Iberia was the global launch airline at the end of last year.
These new destinations are part of Iberia’s Flight Plan 2030, the company’s roadmap for growth over the coming years. The goal is to strengthen Iberia’s position in strategic markets by increasing connectivity in the Americas and Europe.
More Frequencies in Latin America and North America
In addition to new destinations, Iberia will increase frequencies in key Latin American and North American markets over the coming months. In the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, the airline will reach a historic record in frequencies. The Madrid–Santo Domingo route will be boosted by up to four additional weekly flights, reaching two daily services. The Madrid–San Juan route will see up to seven more weekly flights compared to last winter, reaching up to 14 weekly frequencies.
Rio de Janeiro will also see an increase, reaching seven weekly flights in February to coincide with Carnival season. Santiago de Chile will go from ten to twelve weekly flights, and Lima will reach 14, one more than last winter.

Growth in European Capitals
This winter, Iberia is also focusing on European capitals. Amsterdam will have four daily flights, an increase of seven weekly frequencies compared to last winter. Rome will gain two additional weekly flights, reaching a total of 44, with up to six or seven daily flights on certain days. Paris will also see two more weekly frequencies, reaching up to eleven daily flights on some days.
A Snowy Winter
Winter is synonymous with snow sports. To support these trips, Iberia is increasing flights to ski destinations. Three seasonal routes to Austria, Norway and Finland will return, and an additional Saturday flight to Geneva will be added to facilitate travel to Swiss ski resorts.
Innsbruck (Austria): Starting 21 December, with two weekly flights until Easter. Iberia offers free transport of sports equipment and one standard piece of luggage with Optima and higher fares.
Tromso (Norway): Known for its Northern Lights and fjords. Flights begin on 4 December 2025 and run until 1 March 2026, with two weekly frequencies.
Rovaniemi (Finland): The capital of Lapland and home of Santa Claus, returning for the third consecutive year. Flights begin on 3 December and run until 28 February 2026, operated with A320neo aircraft.
Additionally, two weekly frequencies will be added to Vienna to support visits to Christmas markets, and one more Saturday flight to Geneva will be added to facilitate travel to Swiss ski resorts.
Other Destinations to Enjoy
Some summer seasonal routes will extend into the winter to give customers more time to enjoy these destinations: Dubrovnik and Zagreb in Croatia, and Funchal in Portugal. All three will operate until November and return in March.
Algiers will have one daily flight throughout the winter, three more than last season.
