Monterrey to be connected with 32 destinations
The airline will begin operating this route on 2 June
Just a few months ahead of the launch of the new direct route between Monterrey and Madrid, Iberia has reached an agreement with Mexican airline Viva that will provide this service with extensive connectivity to 32 cities across the country.
As a result, customers travelling to or from Monterrey and connecting to any of these 32 destinations will be able to include all legs in a single booking and check their baggage through to their final destination, among other benefits—ensuring maximum convenience and simplicity throughout their journey.
This agreement builds on the existing partnership between Iberia and Viva, which currently connects Mexico City International Airport with 20 domestic destinations. Customers can purchase tickets directly on Iberia’s website for flights to and from: Guanajuato, Ciudad Obregón, Ciudad Juárez, Culiacán, Cancún, Chihuahua, Cozumel, Guadalajara, Hermosillo, Huatulco, La Paz, Los Mochis, Mexico City (AICM and AIFA), Mérida, Morelia, Mexicali, Mazatlán, Oaxaca, Puebla, Puerto Vallarta, Puerto Escondido, Querétaro, San José del Cabo, Tampico, Tapachula, Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Tijuana, Toluca, Tulum, Veracruz, and Villahermosa.
Monterrey–Madrid, starting 2 June
Iberia will launch operations between Monterrey and Madrid on 2 June, a milestone that reinforces the airline’s strong commitment to the Mexican market.
With this second destination within the country, Iberia will exceed 820,000 seats between Mexico and Spain this year—capacity that no other Latin American market has achieved to date—making Mexico the market with the highest capacity in the region.
The route will initially operate with three weekly flights, all onboard Iberia’s A330-300, with capacity for 292 passengers across Business, Premium Economy and Economy cabins, offering customers a wider range of options to tailor their travel experience to their needs.
