Iberia Group offers nearly 1.2 million seats for travel during Easter

Iberia, Iberia Express and Iberia Regional Air Nostrum have put 1,175,132 seats on sale and will operate 7,329 flights

The Iberia Group (Iberia, Iberia Express and Iberia Regional Air Nostrum) is strengthening its operations for the Easter travel period and has scheduled 7,329 flights between 27 March and 7 April, 10% more than during the same period in 2025. In total, 1,175,132 seats have been put on sale for this holiday period.

To respond to travellers’ needs, Iberia has increased capacity and frequencies on several destinations. Venice will see three additional flights per week, while Budapest, Athens and Prague will each add two new frequencies. Travellers heading to Vienna will also benefit from one additional flight. Capacity on flights to Rome—one of the most popular destinations at this time of year—will also increase, with some Easter flights operated by wide-body aircraft typically used on long-haul routes.

This year Easter also coincides with the start of the summer season for the tourism industry, which begins on 29 March. On that same day, Iberia will launch its daily flight to Newark in the United States. Operated by the new Airbus A321XLR, this route complements the airline’s operations to JFK airport, offering a total of three daily flights to New York.

In addition, for the upcoming summer season Iberia has increased its capacity to Latin America by 7.6% in just one year and will offer more than 3.3 million seats. The airline is also offering a record number of seats to the United States, with a 19% increase compared with 2025.

This growth in seat capacity—driven by the launch of new destinations and increased frequencies on existing routes—is part of the Flight Plan 2030, the company’s strategic roadmap for the coming years, aimed at positioning the Madrid hub at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport among Europe’s leading aviation hubs through an investment of €6 billion.
