Iberia Offers Record Number of Seats to the United States This Summer
The airline has put 1,245,678 seats on sale to the U.S.
Iberia has designed the largest schedule in its history for the United States and Canada for the summer season, which begins on March 29. The airline will offer 1,280,254 seats in these markets — 19.02% more than last summer — and will operate up to 166 weekly flights, compared to 144 in the previous season, representing a 15% increase in frequencies.
This growth is part of the development of Iberia’s Flight Plan 2030, which continues to drive the company’s expansion through the incorporation of new aircraft and the launch of strategic destinations. In recent months, Iberia has received six new Airbus A321XLR aircraft, a long-haul model that has strengthened its operations in North America and increased capacity in key markets. As a result, the airline is expanding its presence in North America with the launch of Toronto, the addition of a new daily flight to Newark, and the first full summer of operations to Orlando.
Nine Destinations in the United States
In the United States, Iberia will operate an extensive network of destinations with overall capacity increases, offering 15.81% more seats, reaching a total of 1,245,678.
Nueva-York further strengthens its connectivity with the addition of a new daily flight to Newark Liberty International Airport, complementing the two existing daily frequencies to JFK. As a result, Iberia will offer three daily flights between Madrid and the New York metropolitan area, consolidating this market as one of its most strategic in North America. The new Newark service is particularly geared toward corporate travelers, as it provides more direct and efficient access to Manhattan’s financial district, reducing travel times for short business trips. During the summer, total capacity between Madrid and New York will reach 352,055 seats, a 43% increase compared to last year.
Orlando represents one of the main new additions to the network. This will be the first full summer of the route launched last October, operating three weekly frequencies. Throughout the summer season, the route will offer a total of 51,856 seats.
Boston will consolidate two daily flights thanks to the incorporation of the A321XLR, as will Miami which will maintain two daily flights. Dallas, Chicago and Washington will each operate one daily frequency. Los Angeles will offer up to one daily flight during June, July, and August, and San Francisco will operate three weekly frequencies.
Iberia Arrives in Canada
Toronto will mark a milestone for Iberia this summer as Canada joins the airline’s destination map. Starting June 13, Iberia will operate five weekly frequencies between Madrid and Toronto Pearson International Airport, offering a total of 34,576 seats through the end of the season. With this addition, Iberia expands its presence in North America and strengthens direct connectivity between Spain and one of the continent’s leading financial and cultural hubs.
