Iberia adds Salerno as a new destination in Italy
The airline will offer one daily flight between Madrid and Salerno, providing nearly 10,800 seats in November.
Iberia will add Salerno to its network with a special operation during November, offering nearly 10,800 seats between Madrid and the Italian city. The route will be operated with Airbus A320 aircraft and will strengthen Iberia’s presence in Italy, the country where it has its largest destination network.
With this addition, Iberia will serve 12 destinations in Italy. Throughout the year, the airline connects Madrid with Bologna, Florence, Milan (Linate and Malpensa), Naples, Rome, Turin and Venice. During the summer season, this offering is complemented by flights to Cagliari, Catania, Olbia and Palermo. Rome, with up to seven daily flights in each direction; Milan, with up to eight daily flights between Linate and Malpensa during the busiest months; and Venice, with up to three daily flights, are the Italian destinations to which Iberia offers the highest number of frequencies.
Overall, Iberia will offer more than 2.85 million seats between Spain and Italy in 2026, 1.8% more than in 2025, when the airline put 2.80 million seats on sale. Italy is thus consolidating its position as one of Iberia’s main European markets.
This operation forms part of the Flight Plan 2030, Iberia’s roadmap to continue strengthening its network and connectivity through its Madrid hub. Thanks to an investment of €6 billion, the company will continue expanding its destination network, modernising and growing its fleet, and enhancing the customer experience over the coming years.
