Fare flexibility due to the eruption of Mount Etna

Due to the eruption of Mount Etna and the presence of volcanic ash, some of our flights to or from Catania may be affected.

In view of this situation, which is beyond Iberia’s control, we are offering our customers alternatives so that they can reorganise their journey more conveniently.

Who does this apply to?

Bookings that meet the following conditions:

Tickets purchased by 15 September 2026.
Flights to or from Catania.
Original flight date from 15 to 16 September 2026.

What options are available?

Change the date of your journey and travel up to 25 September 2026, subject to availability.
Change the origin or destination to Palermo (PMO) or Naples (NAP).
Request a refund in the form of a voucher.

Important: 1 change is permitted. The refund will be issued as a voucher and will only be returned to the original payment method if the flight is eventually cancelled (outbound or return).

We hervatten onze vluchten naar Caracas geleidelijk

Na de periode waarin onze vluchten vanwege de recente aardbeving waren opgeschort, laten we je graag weten dat we ons voorbereiden om vanaf 3 september weer naar Caracas te vliegen. Nadat de autoriteiten hebben bevestigd dat de internationale luchthaven Maiquetía weer beschikbaar is voor gebruik, zullen we onze reguliere activiteiten in Caracas geleidelijk hervatten. Hierdoor kunnen we elk detail samen met de technische autoriteiten coördineren om je bovenal een veilige en ordelijke reis te garanderen.

We zijn je enorm dankbaar voor je geduld en vertrouwen tijdens deze overgangsperiode, terwijl we de dienstverlening volledig normaliseren. Vanwege de operationele en controleprocedures die op de luchthaven van toepassing zijn, raden we je aan om 4 tot 5 uur voor vertrek van je vlucht op de luchthaven aanwezig te zijn, zodat je voldoende tijd hebt om alle noodzakelijke formaliteiten af te ronden. Als je vlucht door de situatie is getroffen en je ticket vóór 28 augustus is uitgegeven, vergeet dan niet dat ons flexibiliteitsbeleid nog steeds van kracht is om je te helpen je reis zonder extra kosten om te boeken:

De reisdatum wijzigen om tot en met 15 oktober 2026 te vliegen.
Je route wijzigen naar alternatieve luchthavens: Panama-Stad (PTY) of Bogotá (BOG).
Een terugbetaling van je ticket aanvragen.

Flight flexibility in Doha

Due to the situation in the Middle East, we have cancelled some of our flights to/from Doha until 23 October. We are monitoring the airspace situation in real time and adapting our operations.

Affected customers have been rebooked on flights operated by Qatar Airways to offer them an alternative travel option.

Due to these circumstances, we have activated the following flexibility policy, and bookings with flights up to 24 October purchased before 28 August can, at no additional cost:

Change the date of your booking to fly up to 31 December 2026.
Request a refund for your ticket.
Change the origin/destination by up to 150 km.

If you booked directly with Iberia, you can process it online through Manage your booking. If you booked through a travel agency, you must contact them to modify your booking.

Temporary suspension of the Havana route (from June 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027)

Due to the temporary suspension of the Havana route, some of our flights to or from Havana could be affected.

In view of this situation beyond Iberia’s control, we offer our customers alternatives so that they can reorganise their trip with greater convenience.

Who does this apply to?

For bookings that meet the following conditions:

Tickets purchased up to August 18, 2026.
Flights with Havana as their origin or destination operated by the Iberia Group (Iberia, Iberia Express and Air Nostrum).
Original travel date from June 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027.

What options do we offer?

Change the travel date to fly up to October 25, 2027.
Change the origin or destination to another airport located within 2,300 km, including Miami, Mexico City, Panama City and Santo Domingo.
Request a refund in the form of a voucher.

Important: 1 change is allowed. The refund will be issued as a voucher and will only be returned to the original form of payment if the flight is eventually cancelled (outbound or return).

Flight Flexibility in Tel Aviv

Due to the situation in the Middle East, some of our flights to/from Tel Aviv between 25 October and 9 December have been cancelled.

Due to these circumstances, we have introduced the following flexible policy for cancelled flights. Tickets purchased by 2 September 2026, with flight dates up to 9 December 2026, can be changed or refunded at no additional cost:

Change the date of your booking to any available flight date.
Request a full refund of your ticket using the original payment method.

If you booked directly with Iberia, you can process this online through Manage your booking. If you booked through a travel agency, you must contact the agency to modify your booking.

Onderhoudswerkzaamheden op de luchthaven van Santiago de Chile (21 september tot 3 november 2026)

Vanwege onderhoudswerkzaamheden op de luchthaven van Santiago de Chile kunnen sommige van onze vluchten van of naar deze stad tussen 21 september en 3 november 2026 worden beïnvloed.

Gezien deze situatie buiten de controle van Iberia bieden wij onze klanten alternatieven zodat zij hun reis gemakkelijker opnieuw kunnen plannen.

Tijdens deze periode kan vlucht IB118 naar Madrid om operationele redenen en voor brandstofbevoorrading een technische tussenlanding maken in Rio de Janeiro.

Voor wie geldt dit?

Voor boekingen die aan deze voorwaarden voldoen:

Tickets gekocht tot en met 28 mei 2026.
Vluchten met vertrekpunt of bestemming in Santiago de Chile, uitgevoerd door de Iberia Group (Iberia, Iberia Express en Air Nostrum).
Oorspronkelijke vluchtdata van 21 september tot en met 3 november 2026.

Welke opties bieden wij?

De datum wijzigen van de reis om tot en met 15 november 2026 te vliegen.
Wijzig het vertrekpunt of de bestemming naar een andere luchthaven op maximaal 300 km afstand.
Vraag terugbetaling aan in de vorm van een voucher.

Belangrijk: 1 wijziging is toegestaan. De terugbetaling gebeurt in de vorm van een voucher en wordt alleen terugbetaald via de oorspronkelijke betaalmethode als de vlucht uiteindelijk wordt geannuleerd (heen- of terugreis).

Maintenance work at Buenos Aires Airport from 25 October to 11 November 2026

Due to planned maintenance work on the main runway at Buenos Aires Airport (Ezeiza), some of our flights between Madrid and Buenos Aires may be affected between 25 October and 11 November 2026. During this period, flights departing from Buenos Aires and bound for Madrid will make a technical stop in Montevideo for refuelling.

Given this situation beyond Iberia’s control, we are offering our customers alternative options so they can adjust their travel plans more conveniently.

Who does this apply to?

For bookings that meet these conditions:

Tickets purchased up to 8 May 2026.
Flights with origin or destination in Buenos Aires (Ezeiza Airport) operated by the Iberia Group (Iberia, Iberia Express and Air Nostrum).
Original flight date between 25 October and 11 November 2026.

What options do we offer?

Change the date of travel to fly between 15 October and 30 November 2026.
Change the origin or destination to another airport located up to 300 km away.
Request a refund as a voucher.

Important: 1 change is allowed. The refund will be issued as a voucher and will only be returned to the original payment method if the flight is ultimately cancelled (outbound or return).
